Area highways are clear to traffic again after Hwy. 401 and Hwy. 3 were both closed for a time today near Windsor.
The westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 near Hwy. 3 are open again after being closed since about 11am because of a flipped transport truck spilling its load of scrap metal across the highway, blocking the lanes.
OPP have charged a driver with making an unsafe lane change. The Ministry of Transportation also laid some charges against the truck driver after they inspected the tractor trailer.
No one was hurt in the crash, but authorities report there was some damage caused to the roadway.
In another Tuesday crash, the westbound lanes of Hwy. 3 near Walker Rd. have been re-opened to traffic after police reported a crash at about 1:45pm was blocking the lanes.
No word on any injuries related to the crash on Hwy. 3.
