Lemieux Nabs CHL Recognition

Windsor Spitfires forward Brendan Lemieux is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending December 20.

Lemieux scored give goals and added an assist in just two games for the Spits while recording a plus-3 rating.

The Paradise Valley, Arizona native led the Spits to wins in both games of a home-and-home series against the Saginaw Spirit. Lemieux scored the game winning goal in both games and finished as the first star both nights as well.

Lemieux has 26 points in 16 games, helping the Spits have a resurgent season as the leaders in the OHL's West Division. He's the first Spitfires player this season to win the CHL Player of the Week honour.

The 19-year-old is a prospect of the NHL's Winnipeg Jets and is in his fourth OHL season — his first with the Spitfires.
