Ads Roll Out For Catholic Board

In an effort to create a spike in enrollment numbers, the St. Clair Catholic District School Board is coming to a theatre near you.

Less than a month after reviewing enrollment and retention statistics within Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton, the SCCDSB has bought ad time at local cinemas. Director of Education Dan Parr says this widens the scope of their recruitment efforts.

"We're always looking for ways through our communication to reach the most people. More traditional ways of communication might be outdated, so we constantly have to be looking at how to improve."

The 30-second commercials will advertise the board's high school open houses and Kindergarten registration. Parr adds signing up for Kindergarten is different from the past.

"It's called KinderStart, it's different. Kindergarten registration used to happen a few days before Labour Day. Now it starts several months before, because we want to get to know the child first."

The ads will be played at the Chatham and Sarnia Galaxy Cinemas over the holidays.
