Chatham-Kent Police Chief Gary Conn has been working on the CKPS budget since October, and the board is ready to introduce it to council.
While no concrete details will be released before the draft budget is tabled on January 12, Police Services Board Chair Diane Daly says it's "fiscally responsible." She did add money has been set aside in 2016 for a new drone.
"We'd like to put that in for if we're looking for someone that's lost. There are so many people with dementia, [a drone] can be an important factor in locating someone like that," she says.
Daly was re-elected as chair of the police services board at a recent meeting. Pat Weaver was selected as the vice chair.
