The Transition to Betterness comfort blanket program is getting a boost thanks to Blackburn Radio's benefit concert.
"They're these wonderfully hand done, beautiful warm blankets that patients receive when they enter our palliative unit or even some of our oncology rooms," says T2B Executive Director Amber Hunter.
The Simple Plan concert held at the Walkerville Theatre February 17, 2016 raised $14,103 for the charity in honour of the former Blackburn Radio owner, the late Richard Costley-White
Hunter says the comfort blanket initiative is one of their most loved programs.
"The comfort blanket program is the one that we receive the most amount of letters and so many times it's just these great letters about how their loved one felt so supported and warm and cozy while they were in the hospital," says Hunter.
This donation will sponsor the comfort blanket program for two years.
"We are so blessed that we have so much support from the community and this is our first major partnership with Blackburn Radio and we are so proud of it. We just hope this partnership continues for years to come," says Hunter.
