Spitfires Down Rangers 6-4

The Windsor Spitfires scored a 6-4 win over the Kitchener Rangers on Thursday.

Windsor took a 2-1 lead over the Rangers in the first period and extended it to 5-3 by the end of the second. Both teams score once in the third to give Windsor the win.

Christian Fischer led Windsor with two goals and Mads Eller scored is first goal as a Spitfire. Logan Brown, Mikhail Sergachev and Gabriel Vilardi all scored once as well.

Spitfires head coach Rocky Thompson says they were trying to send a message early in the game.

"I thought we were physical; we were trying to wear on them as best we could. It was a good game back and forth," he says. "We were opportunistic but at the same time when you go to the net hard, you're going to score goals. That's been our message this year."

The Spitfires will take on the Saginaw Spirit next on Friday at 7:05pm.
