Game 3 Loss A "Back Breaker"

The Windsor Spitfires are facing playoff elimination after suffering a 2-1 loss to the Kitchener Rangers at the WFCU Centre on Monday night.

Spitfires captain Patrick Sanvido says despite the tough loss, the Spits are ready to fight back.

"Didn't go the way we wanted. It was a back breaker," says Sanvido. "We got to regroup in the room. It's not over until the fat lady sings. It's been done before; it happens in the NHL, happens in the OHL so I can't see why it can't happen again."

Kitchener's Brandon Robinson scored the eventual game winning goal late in the third period.

Spits goaltender Michael DiPietro calls it a tough loss to swallow.

"Coming up that short sticks a dagger in your heart for sure," says DiPietro, making 28 saves in the loss. "We're not out of it yet. I liked the way we played tonight. Coming up that short really hurts, but we're going to bounce back."

Windsor's Aaron Luchuk scored on the powerplay mid-way through the period with Connor Chatham and Cristiano DiGiacinto getting the assists.

Game 4 is set for Wednesday at the WFCU Centre. Puck-drop is set for 7:05pm.
