Toy Guns On The Highway

Chatham-Kent OPP let five men off with a stern warning after reports of a group of men shooting handguns out the window of a pickup truck on Hwy. 40.

Around 4pm on March 29 police were alerted to the five men allegedly firing guns into a nearby field at Hwy. 40 and Hwy. 401.

The truck got into the eastbound 401, exited at Kent Bridge Rd. and continued into Ridgetown.

Both Chatham-Kent OPP and Chatham-Kent Police Service spotted the truck in Ridgetown and conducted what is being called a "high risk takedown."

When police searched the truck they found toy guns and additional imitation firearms.

No one was injured and no charges were laid.
