Pit Bull Case Back In Court

The case against a Kent Bridge-area man in connection with an alleged dog fighting ring has been put over to May.

Robert Tomlin, 32, was arrested March 1 as part of an investigation into dogs seized near Tilbury last year. He faces a total of four counts of permitting pain and suffering to an animal, one of cruelty, and seven charges relating to owning Pit Bull type dogs.

Seven of Tomlin's dogs were seized at the time. Another 31 were seized in connection with the arrest of four people near Tilbury last year. Three of those dogs have been put down and 21 more are the subject of court application to be put down.

Tomlin was not in court as his lawyer asked that the case be put over to May 3 so he could get disclosure of the evidence.
