Chatham-Kent OPP are laying drunk driving charges against a pair of drivers in their 20s.
Police say the charges are being laid after two separate incidents on the Hwy. 401 over the weekend.
The first incident took place just before 2am Saturday morning. Officers say they got a call about a vehicle that was driving erratically in the eastbound lanes of the highway.
Police were able to speak to the 24-year-old man driving the vehicle after he pulled off the highway and into an OnRoute Service Centre. At that point, officers determined he had been drinking alcohol, so they performed some tests that indicated the driver was over the legal limit.
A few hours after that, at around 6am Saturday morning, officers were called to the scene of a rollover collision involving a Ford SUV on the eastbound Hwy. 401 at Queens Line.
Police say the 20-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle told them that someone else was behind the wheel at the time, but their investigation indicated she was lying.
She's now facing a number of charges including obstructing a peace officer and driving while impaired.
