More than half of the flu cases reported in Chatham-Kent came in just one month.
Public health officials say it wasn't a very serious season with low numbers of cases.
Public Health Nurse Catherine VanArkel says the season is later getting underway.
"This is a trend we are seeing throughout the province it's just not Chatham-Kent but all of our surrounding health units and actually a lot of health units in Ontario," she says. "We had 25 cases of influenza reported to us but since the beginning of March we had 15."
VanArkel says it isn't clear why the change has happened but there were very few cases early in the traditional flu season.
