The Beautification Committee for the 2017 International Plowing Match in Huron County is already laying down the ground rules for the competition.
Committee Chair Deb Falconer says the goal of the competition is to renew the beauty of all of the towns and villages in Huron before the match.
There are eight categories in the competition, which include farmstead, farm gate entrance, rural and urban home, agri-business, seasonal cottage and community landscape project.
The entry fee is $25 and the deadline is June 1, 2017. Contestants must submit a photo of their property with the entry fee, before they start.
Falconer adds they also have a contest for 4-H members who wants to display their 4-H sign. Extra points are awarded for incorporating old machinery with something commemorating Canada's 150th birthday.
Entry forms and more information about the competitions can be found on the 2017 Huron County IPM web site.
