The rain may have kept a few walkers away from this year's Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event in Chatham, but it didn't stop the donations from pouring in.
The Executive Director of the Chatham-Kent Women's Centre Karen Hunter says they raised more than $20,000 at this year's event.
"We had 78 sponsors and prized donors for the event, which far exceeds previous years from what I understand," says Hunter. "That's the kind of momentum we want to keep and continue on for the next year and the year after that."
Hunter says about 65 walkers came out to help raise awareness about sexualized violence against women.
