Glitters For Sale

Glitters Fun Eatery in downtown Chatham is up for sale.

Owner and Operator Gino Buffone says selling his 34-year business is part of his transition into retirement, but adds he's in no rush to sell off Glitters.

"We started the process early knowing full well that it could take some time to find the right person, the person that I want to see take over the business," says Buffone. "We've had interest shown; some from out of town, some from in town [but] nothing that has materialized into a sale as of yet."

Buffone feels he's leaving at a time downtown Chatham is growing.

"We see a lot of potential, a lot of things happening not just downtown, but I think in Chatham in general," says Buffone. "I think the new developments that are happening now will only enhance the opportunities in downtown Chatham."

Over 30 years in business has given Buffone a number of great memories.

"I think the ones that I treasure the most are the ones when I see my customers coming into the restaurant bringing in their children and now their grandchildren," says Buffone.

He and three partners started the business in 1983 as the Moviola Cafe which has been franchised out across the province before the restaurant took on the Glitters name.
