Civic Holiday Closures

The Civic Holiday on Monday gives many people a day off including many government workers.

As a result, municipal offices and public library branches in Chatham-Kent will be closed.

The Public Utilities Commission will be closed as well. For emergencies, call 519-352-6300.

The Chatham Cultural Centre Box Office and ARTspace are closed as well on Monday, although the Thames Art Gallery, Chatham-Kent Museum, Milner Heritage House and Ridge House Museum are all open from 1pm - 5pm.

CK Transit won't be running on Monday, but if you're looking to visit the beach this weekend, the seasonal "Beach Bus" is free taking riders to Mitchell's Bay or Erieau.

Many provincial facilities are closed, including the Provincial Offences Court in Chatham, but LCBO locations are open with reduced hours. However, the LCBO location on Wellington St. in Chatham is closed on Monday.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance will see some service reductions including routine X-rays, electrocardiograms and ultrasounds not available expect for inpatients and emergencies. The Oncology/Chemotherapy Department will also be closed as will Elston Pharmacy.

Garbage and recycling services scheduled for Monday will be pushed back a day.

There will be free open swims available for the Civic Holiday from 1:30pm to 4pm at pools across Chatham-Kent, although the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool is closed for renovations.

The Thames Campus Arena and Bothwell Arena are both open for bookings, while the William K Erickson Arena is open for summer day camps.

Riverview Gardens reception and administrative offices will be closed, but services and visiting hours continue as normal.
