Statistics Canada reports another slight dip in Windsor's jobless rate in August.
It was 6.1% last month, down from 6.2% in July. In June, the unemployment rate in the city was 6.4%.
London's jobless rate didn't change between August and July. It was 7.2%.
The highest rate in the country was in St.John's Newfoundland where 12.4% of the population collected employment insurance benefits last month. Sherbrooke, Quebec and Victoria, British Columbia tied for the lowest rate at 4.7%.
The provincial unemployment rate climbed .3% to 6.7%, and the national rate increased just slightly to 7%.
Adjusted to the same metrics used in the U.S., Canada's unemployment rate was 5.9% compared to the American rate of 4.9%.
