Chatham-Kent police say they're keeping a close eye on what they're calling a "creepy clown" hoax.
Officers say the hoax is making the rounds on social media -- that includes a series of threats in the London-area where several students received social media threats of a violent clown attack.
Police say there haven't been any official "clown sightings" reported in Chatham-Kent, but they are monitoring the developing situation.
Officers are also issuing a warning for any potential "creepy clowns" in the area. They say, while it's not an offence to wear a scary costume, officers will be watching out for any criminal activity, which could include uttering threats, being in possession of a weapon, mischief, and/or trespassing.
