November Heat Wave

Grab your flip-flops and sunscreen.

Environment Canada says temperatures across Southwestern Ontario will reach as high as 20 C on Friday. Typically the high in mid-November is 7 C.

"If it reaches 20 C in the sunshine that will be a record," says Senior Climatologist David Phillips. "The previous record was 18.9 C on November the 18th back in 1971."

"Call it Trump air if you want, I mean it's clearly coming from the south, but we're going to see a return to something more Canadian in the last half of the month," says Phillips. "Certainly the month will come out to be warmer than normal because of this excruciatingly warm temperatures that we've had in the first two weeks of the month."

Phillips says we could see some snow early next week.

"At night we see two nights in a row with temperatures below freezing, -2 C or -3 C, and we may see the white stuff. Not a measurable amount, people won't be storm stayed by the snow, but we'll see some wet snow or rain, depending upon when the precipitation falls," he says.
