Cat Thrown From Truck Euthanized

A cat that was tossed from a moving pickup truck near Dresden has been euthanized.

Officials with the Ontario SPCA say the cat was put down by a local veterinarian Tuesday morning due to its severe injuries, although spokesperson Alison Cross couldn't confirm what those injuries included.

The cat was thrown from a late model single cab Chevrolet Duramax 4x4 pickup truck, around 5:30pm Sunday, in the area of McCreary Line and Dawn Valley Line, according to Chatham-Kent police.

The truck is described as having LED headlights, aftermarket tail lights, tinted windows and a loud exhaust system.

Cross says the OSPCA's investigation continues, but right now depends on tracking down the suspect.

They are appealing to the public for tips, and are asking anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
