Santa Stops In Thamesville Friday Night

Santa Claus is making one final stop in Chatham-Kent before Christmas.

He'll be going through Thamesville Friday night for their annual Santa Claus Parade.

"Every year we average about 70 floats or participants in the parade," says Paul Dawdy with the organizing committee. "The parade starts around 7pm tonight, and after the parade's over with, we have Santa Claus at the local legion that gives out candy."

Organizers are expecting a good crowd, despite the forecast.

"Usually pretty good, the streets are usually pretty well lined," says Dawdy. "I can't give you an estimate of how many, but last year we gave out over 100 bags of candy."

The Thamesville Santa Claus parade has been running for 48 years.
