Major Donation From Bruce Power To IPM In Huron County

Bruce Power will be a distinguished partner in the 2017 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo in Huron County later this year.

The opening day at the site near Walton will be known as "Bruce Power Day," after the company donated $100,000 to the event.

An estimated 100,000 people are expected at the match between September 19-23.  Exhibits and about 600 vendors will focus on education and promotion of rural living, lifestyles and businesses.

There will also be plowing competitions featuring 10,000 participants, historical demonstrations on farming's past, and the opening day parade, of which Bruce Power is the title sponsor.

"Bruce Power takes great pride in our rural heritage and looks forward to being part of the 100th International Plowing Match," says James Scongack, Bruce Power’s vice president, corporate affairs and environment. "Many of our employees were raised in rural Ontario and have a deep connection to the land on which their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents provided for their families."
