The crash closed the eastbound 401 Monday around around 1:15pm, for two hours.
Investigators say a westbound Ford Focus lost control, drove through the centre median and struck an eastbound Hyundai Santa Fe.
Three people in the Santa Fe were transported to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
