Flooding closed a portion of Erie Shore Dr. in Chatham-Kent on Tuesday.
High water levels in Lake Erie and high winds closed a half-kilometre stretch of the road just before noon. About 20 homes were affected by the closure.
Tim Dick, director of drainage, asset and waste management for Chatham-Kent says they are laying clay berms along the south side of the roadway to divert water into specific areas to allow it to flow into the municipal drain.
The road reopened around 2:30pm on Tuesday.
