Express Escape Game 2 132-128

The Windsor Express needed an overtime period to beat the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans 132-128 Sunday at the Atlas Tube Centre in Lakeshore.

The Express built a big lead in the first half of the game only to squander it in the second half, and they found themselves in a tight battle as regulation wound down.  Once the smoke cleared, the Express came away with a two-games-to-none lead in the NBL Canada Central Division semifinals.

They can pick up a series sweep Wednesday night in Kitchener.

Darren Duncan led the Express with 29 points, and also led the team with nine assists.  On defence, Juan Pattillo was tops for Windsor with 13 rebounds.  He also scored 18 points for a double-double on the afternoon.  Logan Stutz added 17 points and bounced nine rebounds of his own.

Isiah Umipig had 28 points to lead the Titans, and assisted on scoring 12 additional times.  Cavell Johnson contributed to the Kitchener-Waterloo offence with 24 points, including five three-pointers.

Tipoff for Game 3 is 7pm Wednesday at The Aud in Kitchener.
