Warm Weather On Its Way

Environment Canada officials say it is safe to start booking tee times and trips to your local garden centre.

Senior Climatologist David Phillips explains that, although it has been cooler than normal lately, his models for May still show above average temperatures.

"My sense is that we're going to begin to see the warm up and dry out in earnest sometime this week," he says. "But the warmer-than-normal temperatures should be there next week."

But before southwestern Ontario residents can get too excited about the warmth, Phillips says it could get frosty overnight Monday, into Tuesday.

"I don't think it will be a killing temperature, but certainly I think people who have bought their plants and are able to cover them, that would be a good thing," he says. "Tuesday morning should be the last risk of frost [this spring]."
