Two Arrested After Large OPP Seizure

Two men from Moravian First Nations just east of Thamesville have been arrested after a large drugs and firearms seizure.

The OPP searched a home near 14894 River Line on Tuesday and recovered several non-restricted, restricted, and prohibited firearms and weapons, several calibers of ammunition, a quantity of Canadian currency, as well as cocaine and fentanyl.

Two men, 57 and 19, were arrested at the scene.

Charges include 25 counts of unsafe storage of a firearm and 25 counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Police seized two dozen firearms and approximately 800 rounds of ammunition of various calibers. Officers also seized approximately 28 fentanyl patches and about 32 grams of cocaine.

The combined estimated street value of the seized firearms and controlled substances is around $11,000.
