Threshing Festival Celebrates Canada's 150th

Thousands of people came out the 42nd annual Thamesville Threshing Festival to watch the special Canada-themed parade and to take part in the other festivities.

The festival, which was held from Thursday-Saturday, is one of southwestern Ontario's most popular summer attractions. The parade and fair rides are just some of the many highlights.

"We were worried about the parade with mother nature throwing a conniption [Friday] morning but it turned out great. The crowd was fabulous and the attendance was up," says organizer Ila Van Waes.

She's confident next year's celebrations will go just as well, but she's also keep a tight lid on the special events planned for next year.
