Police say the Chatham woman was driving east on Grande River Line near Jacob Rd. at around 11 pm Monday, when her vehicle left the road and hit a tree.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, but were unable to save her life.
Due to the severity of the crash, the Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit shut down the roadway temporarily and has taken over the investigation.
