Catholic School Board Director Of Education Retiring

After 31 years in education, the St. Clair Catholic District School Board's Director of Education has announced plans to retire at the end of this year. Dan Parr says he has been honoured and humbled to serve and lead in Catholic education both in the St. Clair and Huron-Perth Catholic district school boards. "I feel that my career has come to the point where it's something that I celebrate now and it's something that I look forward too, mainly based on what the future holds but also with so much satisfaction and pride in my career and especially so much satisfaction and pride in the people I've worked with for the past four years here," says Parr. Parr started his career in 1986 as a teacher, vice-principal and then principal of St. Michaels Catholic Secondary School in Huron-Perth -- where he later took on the position of Superintendent of Education. He became the Director of Education at St. Clair Catholic in 2013, following the retirement of Paul Wubben. Parr says he's looking forward to doing some travelling and spending more time with his wife, three grown children and grandchild.

His last day will be December 31. The Board of Trustees has initiated the search for Parr's replacement to start January 1, 2018.
