The call is out for blood donors to sign up for a clinic coming up on Monday in Tilbury.
Marisa Gatfield with Canadian Blood Services says there are still a lot of appointment spots open.
"We are currently pre-booked at just 56% of our need," says Gatfield. "There are around 80 open appointment slots... bring a friend and help save a life."
A shortage of donors in the summertime is nothing new, according to Gatfield. She says their donations typically take a hit because their regular donors may be away on holidays or spending some extra time with family.
So, if you've been thinking about giving blood, Gatfield says there's no time like the present.
"The need is constant," says Gatfield. "There are patients who count on our support and the support of donors each and every day."
While appointments are encouraged, drop-ins are also welcome.
Monday's clinic runs from 1pm to 7pm at the Tilbury Arena.
