No Charges Will Be Laid In Fatal Crash

An investigation into a fatal crash that happened about ten months ago on Moravian of the Thames First Nation has wrapped up.

Chatham-Kent OPP along with Moravian First Nation Police had been investigating a fatal crash that happened back in November, 2016. As a result of the crash, 16-year-old Bailey Jacobs died and two other people were sent to the hospital.

"The investigation has determined the driver was not at fault and no charges will be laid in the matter," as stated in the media release from Chatham-Kent OPP.

The investigation has sparked tensions at Moraviantown First Nation in the past. Chatham-Kent OPP announced that they had concluded their investigation Friday afternoon.

"The OPP offers its sincerest condolences to the community as it heals from this incident."
