Logan Brown had his second straight multi-point game as the Windsor Spitfires beat the Attack in Owen Sound 5-4 Sunday.
With the win at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, the Spitfires take two out of their three games in their annual swing through northern Ontario. It was also Brown's third game back with the team after his NHL team, the Ottawa Senators, returned him to Windsor.
Owen Sound scored first at 6:11 in the first period with Aidan Dudas' ninth goal of the season. Windsor then scored two in the first period, with Brown tying the game on the power play, then Aaron Luchuk scored to give the Spitfires the lead and a 2-1 advantage after one period.
In the second period, the Attack scored back-to-back goals of their own to regain the lead. Kevin Hancock lit the lamp at 7:35 to tie the game, then Ethan Szypula had the go-ahead goal. Before the period was over, though, Windsor's Cole Purboo knotted the game at 3-3 on the one-man advantage.
Windsor took the lead for good in the third period. Thomas Stevenson picked up his first goal of the season and gave the Spits a 4-3 lead, then Jake Smith got the insurance goal. Nick Suzuki got a goal back at 14:02 of the third but Owen Sound was unable to tie the game again.
Michael DiPietro collected 34 saves in goal for Windsor, while Zack Bowman had just 13 saves for the Attack. Owen Sound outshot the Spitfires 38-18 in the contest.
The Spitfires welcome the Hamilton Bulldogs Thursday night. The Attack travel to Mississauga Friday night.
