Plans are in motion for a new craft brewery just outside of Blenheim.
A zoning bylaw amendment application was unanimously approved at Monday night's council meeting, which will rezone the lands on Lagoon Rd. in the Community of Harwich to allow a craft brewery to be built there.

The subject property of the proposed craft brewery is located at the southwest intersection of Lagoon Rd. and Middle Line and is approximately 97.33 acres The proposed development will occupy up to 2.5 acres of the farm.
According to the municipality's report, the applicants say the proposed brewery will be promoted as a family farm agri-tourism destination for residents and visitors of Chatham-Kent.
Before construction can start on the project, it still needs site plan approval.
The proposed brewery will include the following:
- Brewhouse
- Taproom with product sales
- Tasting/event room
- Parking lot
- Water well and septic system
