Walk So Kids Can Talk

Hundreds of people will be at Kingston Park on Sunday, raising money for Kids Help Phone.

The Walk So Kids Can Talk does five laps around Kingston Park, starting at 10 am.

"Kids Help Phone is trying to come up with lots of different, live chats and all of those kinds of things," says Chair Kyla Tewkesbury. "Giving kids an opprotunity to call in if they're not comfortable talking to their parents or anyone they know."

Tewkesbury says the money makes sure that professional counsellors are available to kids and teens 24/7, 365 days a year.

"This is their biggest event so all of the money raised pays for those counsellors, and all of theses different things. You can live chat, you can text in, you can call in, there's online question and answer."

Registration opens at 9 am, and the Respect Revolution will perform at 10:30 am.
