CKHA Foundation Receives $6K Towards New Equipment

Two businesses have come together to donate $6,000 towards the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance's Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign.

The donation was made by Dalios Denture and Hearing Clinic in Chatham and Starkey Hearing Technologies.

Tom Dalios, owner of Dalios Denture and Hearing Clinic, along with members of his staff, presented the cheque on Tuesday.

“We’re incredibly grateful to receive this generous donation to the Foundation of CKHA from Dalios Denture and Hearing Clinic and Starkey Hearing Technologies, which will help make healthcare better for the residents of our community,” says Mary Lou Crowley, Foundation of CKHA executive director. “All proceeds from this donation will be used to continue to finance the purchase of life-saving equipment in the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.”

The Dalios Clinic took a portion of the proceeds from selling hearing aids through their office, to raise half of the donation, and one of their trusted suppliers, Starkey Hearing Technologies, matched their $3,000 amount.

“This donation is supporting equipment that improves the lives of people all over the community, the same people we serve every day,” says Dalios. “We are delighted to be able to give back to Chatham-Kent in this way.”

“It only makes sense to support a campaign like this, in a community that includes one of our best customers. We couldn’t be happier to match the donation of the Dalios Clinic, and to know that the funds will go to good use in one of the communities where we do business,” says Starkey Hearing Technologies Credit Administrator Mark Walker.

Dalios Denture and Hearing Clinic is located on Wellington St. in Chatham and has been providing hearing, denture, and optical care to Chatham-Kent residents since 1979. Starkey Hearing Technologies, which is headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, manufactures and delivers advanced hearing solutions.

The Foundation of CKHA announced on May 28 that it had surpassed its fundraising goal for its $6.9-Million Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign. The funds raised are being used to purchase much-needed diagnostic medical equipment for Chatham-Kent, including ultrasound machines, a bone densitometer, and a just-installed SPECT-CT scanner.
