UPDATE: Blenheim Classic Car Show Postponed

UPDATE: The 8th Annual Blenheim Classics Auto Show and Cruise Night has been rescheduled for next weekend due to inclement weather conditions.

-----

Car lovers won't want to miss the 8th Annual Blenheim Classics Auto Show and Cruise Night this weekend.

The car cruise will take place this Friday at 6pm at the Glad Tidings Community Church in Blenheim. The cruisers will drive through downtown Blenheim to Cedar Springs, through Erie Beach, then eventually into Erieau, and back into Blenheim.

About 120-150 cars are expected at the cruise night.

Show chairperson John Ceccacci says there will be a special band called "Flash Back" Friday night at the Talbot Trail Park. He says there will also be hot dogs and treats for purchase and Glad Tidings Community Church will be hosting a barbecue dinner. The festivities will wrap up around 9pm.

The car show will be held this Saturday from 9am to 3pm in downtown Blenheim. Ceccacci says the show is open to all non-modified 1988 and older vehicles, whereas the cruise is open to all classic cars. Over 150 vehicles are expected at the show.

Ceccacci says there will be lots of entertainment at the show.

"We have the Blenheim-Kent Golden Eagles performing and the air cadets. There will be a Frostbites colouring contest and a hot wheels racing track," says Ceccacci.

He says there will be barbecues available at the fire station and the Blenheim Legion as well.

The organizer says there will be something for everyone at the event.

"It's been getting bigger every year and we promise that if you do come out to Blenheim, you'll have a great time," he explains. "It all builds on the classic car capital of Canada being Chatham-Kent... well we're calling this the classic car capital weekend in Blenheim, Ontario."

Ceccacci says the event is free for everyone, though they will be collecting canned food donations for the Glad Tidings Food Bank.
