Driver's Condition Improving After Head-On Crash

One of the drivers who was involved in a fatal crash on the Hwy. 401 near Tilbury Friday morning has been upgraded to stable condition.

Chatham-Kent OPP say he was airlifted to a London hospital in critical condition after the eastbound tractor trailer he was driving was hit head-on by a westbound transport truck that crossed the centre median near Queens Line.

The driver of the westbound transport truck, a 44-year-old Windsor man, died as a result of his injuries.

The crash shut down the Hwy. 401 between County Rd. 42 and Queens Line (Hwy. 2) for approximately 13 hours for the crash investigation and clean-up.
