Organizers with this year's Relay for Life event in Chatham-Kent say the fundraiser fell a little short in reaching its goal.
But they're hoping you can still help them to meet it.
The 2018 Relay for Life walk/run happened last Friday on June 22 in Chatham.
"Participants and survivors of all ages gathered to celebrate our survivors, remember those lost to the disease, and to fight back against cancer," as stated in a media release from the local Cancer Society. "Although the weather didn’t dampen our participants' spirit, it did [effect] our results."
According to a media release, the campaign is about $15,000 shy of their $70,250 goal.
"Our goal is within reach, but we need help from the community to get there!"
The Chatham-Kent Cancer Society is asking for residents to donate towards Relay for Life by visiting their office on Richmond St., or by visiting their website.
Relay for Life is an annual fundraiser, where money raised goes towards research and services to support those living with cancer.
