A 58-year-old man is charged after allegedly leaving a dog in a hot car in Chatham over the long weekend.
Chatham-Kent police say they charged the man with "leaving an animal unattended in a motor vehicle when weather conditions were not suitable" after getting a call Monday morning about a dog that was left in a car in a parking lot on Keil Dr.
Officers are also taking the opportunity to remind the public that if you see an animal that has been left in a hot car, you should call PAWR, the OSPCA at 310-SPCA (7722), or your local police service.
