The Ontario Provincial Police says two people have been hurt in a crash on Hwy. 401 in Lakeshore.
It happened in the westbound lanes at around 11:30am Friday. Police say the driver of a tractor trailer stopped his vehicle in a live lane of traffic on the highway just west of County Rd. 25. The driver began to reverse his truck after missing the exit to Puce Rd.
A westbound pickup truck hauling an enclosed utility trailer was unable to avoid tractor trailer and hit the back of it.
The driver and passenger of the pickup were taken to hospital. The driver had minor injuries while the passenger suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the tractor trailer, a 49-year-old Brampton man was not injured and will be charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm.
The westbound lanes of the 401 were closed for over four hours before reopening just before 4pm.
