Youth Charged With Theft After Sleepover

A sleepover between friends went awry Tuesday morning when the guest allegedly left the home with over $700 worth of electronics.

According to police, the youth allegedly left the Wallaceburg home with the family's PS4 gaming system, numerous games, an RCA Viking tablet, and a pair of earbuds.  The total value is $750.

Officers said Wednesday they charged the 12-year-old Wallaceburg youth with theft under $5,000.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Van Stolen From Local Flooring Business

Chatham-Kent police are asking for help in finding a stolen van.

Police say someone took a white 2004 Chevrolet van from Owen Flooring on St. Clair St. Wednesday night. The van was last seen with Ontario license plates AT96525.

Man Charged With Break And Enter

A man who allegedly broke into a residential garage was also found to have stolen keys to a local business in Chatham.

Police said they got a call about a man entering a garage on River Line at 3am on Thursday.

Officers allegedly found the suspect inside the garage with the stolen keys from Al’s Lawn Care.

According to the release, the 24-year-old Chatham man is charged with two counts of break and enter and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged With Being Intoxicated In A Public Place

A man had a little too much fun in Chatham Wednesday night and landed himself in the drunk tank.

Police responded a suspicious person report in the area of Raleigh St. and Harvey St. around 2:45 a.m. Thursday.

According to a media release, a 40-year-old man was arrested.  Police say he was incapable of caring for himself.

Now, he is charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

Mischief In Chatham

Police are looking for suspects after $5,000 of damage was done to the CN Rail building in Chatham.

Police said Wednesday night an unknown number of suspects entered the facility on Hyslop St.

Police have not described the damage.
