UPDATE: Algae Warning Lifted At Point Pelee National Park

Parks Canada has lifted the algae warning in place for the Point Pelee National Park area.

The warning had been put in place because of visible blue-green algae blooms in Lake Erie.

Officials had said there was a potential health risk for visitors and their pets because of the blooms. The beaches area also open for picnicking, walking, and other land-based recreational activities.

Visitors are asked to contact Point Pelee National Park directly for more information about beach accessibility before visiting at [email protected] or 519-322-2365.
