The Canadian Armed Forces is looking for new recruits and will hold a job fair in Chatham this weekend.
The event will take place Saturday at the Chatham Armoury on Bloomfield Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The job fair will showcase the many employment opportunities available in the army reserve, according to a release. There will be interactive displays for visitors who can also participate in activities throughout the day. Anyone interested will also be able to apply at the event.
The release said the army reserves offer great leadership opportunities, where Canadians can learn many new and transferable skills which can be applied to their current careers.
The email added that recruiting new members is a nation-wide effort and the federal government and is committed to increasing the size of the Armed Forces to 30,000. It also said the Armed Forces want to reduce the length of time it takes for an individual to join the reserve force to 30 days.
