Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating the circumstances of an arrest that led to a man getting injured.
Two investigators have been assigned to the case.
Preliminary information released by the SIU states that a 27-year-old man was seen riding a bike around 3 a.m. October 24, near Patteson Avenue and Inshes Avenue in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent officers tried to stop the man but he allegedly ran away through residential backyards. Officers brought in a police service dog to help find the man and were eventually able to make an arrest. During the arrest, the 27-year-old man suffered an injury and was taken to the hospital. However, details about the injury have not been disclosed.
