Drivers hoping to use the Third Street bridge in downtown Chatham this weekend will be able to do so.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent announced Friday afternoon that all lanes of the bridge would be open to traffic and pedestrians by 7 p.m. Friday evening.
The bridge closed at the beginning of August due to concerns found during an inspection.
Chris Thibert, director of of engineering and transportation, had previously said the bridge was scheduled for major rehabilitation at the end of 2019 or early 2020.
The bridge has a load posted limit of 10 tonnes. The bridge reopening to traffic comes one week ahead of schedule.
