A popular fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society in Chatham-Kent is going online this year.
The 9th Annual Flavours & Favours charity auction will be run through Facebook, with bids coming in through comments on the pictures they'll be posting on their Facebook page.
Community fundraising specialist Darcy Derbecker says the money that's raised this year will go to support kids.
"Often we have a lot of fundraisers for breast cancer and for prostate cancer," said Derbecker. "We haven't had a fundraiser for childhood cancer research recently, so we wanted to make sure that we have proceeds going towards that."
Derbecker said the change to an online format this year is also going over really well according to the feedback they have received so far.
"We've heard from some people who have attended Flavours & Favours and they love the new idea," said Derbecker. "They love that they can sit at home and do the bidding online from their couch in the comfort of their pyjamas."
The auction will start at 12 p.m. on Friday, November 2 and it'll wrap up at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, November 4.
