Police find wanted woman, drugs during traffic stop
A 40-year-old woman is facing a handful of charges after police allegedly found some drugs and a knife in a vehicle they stopped on Lacroix Street in Chatham Sunday morning.
Police said the Chatham woman was arrested after police pulled a vehicle over and learned that the passenger was wanted by Niagara police. Officers said they allegedly found some methamphetamine, some drug-related equipment, and a flick knife on the woman when they were searching her.
The accused has been charged with drug possession and possession of a banned weapon in addition to five counts of failing to comply with her release conditions and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Impaired driver arrested after hit and run
Chatham-Kent police have charged a 39-year-old man with impaired driving after a hit and run at a business on St. Clair Street over the weekend.
Police said they arrested the man after getting a call about a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene of a crash Sunday afternoon.
Officers were able to track down a suspect in connection with the case and believed he was driving under the influence of alcohol. The man they arrested was taken back to police headquarters for further testing and later charged with impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
He has been released with conditions and a future court date.

Police find meth after foot chase
A 26-year-old man is back in police custody after police allegedly found some illegal drugs on him.
Chatham-Kent police said they arrested the man after an officer on general patrol spotted him walking in the area of Harvey Street and West Street in Chatham at around 4 a.m. Monday, which is a violation of the man's curfew.
Police said an officer had to chase the man down on foot before he was taken into custody. The man was also allegedly carrying some methamphetamine.
The accused is now charged with three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions, one count of failing to comply with his probation, and one count of drug possession.

Chatham-Kent police are asking for some help from the public to identify two men in connection with a theft investigation at a business on Queen Street in Chatham.
Police said the incident took place on the night of Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
