A few local companies are joining forces to ensure residents who enjoy a drink or two make it home safely.
Fix Auto Chatham, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and the Chatham Kent Insurance Brokers Association (CKIBA) will be helping out Home James over the holidays. Some employees from Fix Auto and CKIBA will volunteer as drivers, while Enterprise Rent-A-Car will provide vehicles.
Home James is an annual initiative which provides people with rides home from holiday gatherings. Donations made to the initiative are then given to local youth groups.
Greg Bain, owner and operator of Fix Auto Chatham, came up with the idea to support Home James and approached the other companies.
“In the collision repair business, we see the results of car accidents every day. By volunteering with Home James, we’re going to do our best to make sure everyone gets home safe this holiday season,” said Bain in a statement.
Jodie Hogg, the program coordinator of Home James, had previously said they were in need of volunteers as interest in the service continues to grow.
Home James runs until January 1. Details on the program and how to volunteer can be found by clicking here.
