Maroons open the new year against the Nationals

The Chatham Maroons will start the 2019 portion of their GOJHL regular season with a tough test as they face the first-place Nationals in London.

The two teams have met four times so far this season, splitting their results right down the middle with two wins and two losses each. The last time the two teams met in London, on November 28, the Nationals pulled off a 2-1 win in overtime. Their last meeting overall, though, was in Chatham on December 9 -- the Maroons easily won that game 6-2.

Wednesday night's matchup is the first game for both teams following the holiday break with London riding a four-game win streak.

The Maroons ended December on a high note, winning their final two games against Strathroy and St. Marys.

The Nationals lead the Western Conference with 48 points in 31 games played -- Chatham is in third place with 37 pts in 28 gp, just behind Leamington Flyers (38 pts in 28 gp).

You can hear Wednesday night's game on Country 92.9FM/AM 630 CFCO or by clicking here. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
