No injuries after house fire in Ridgetown

The damages are estimated at $175,000 after a fire broke out at a home on Main Street West in Ridgetown late Wednesday night.

Firefighters from Station 11 were called to the home just before 11 p.m. Wednesday and saw flames coming from an attached garage.

Crews acted quickly and were able to prevent the blaze from spreading to the front of the residence. Officials say firefighters were challenged by high winds that were fuelling the fire, but it was eventually extinguished at 1:39 a.m.

No injuries were reported and officials added that the home was protected by working smoke alarms.

At this point, the cause is going down as "undetermined."
